My writing is often informed by my bicultural and bilingual background. I often proudly state that I grew up on biscuits and gravy with a jalapeno on the side. My short stories have been published in literary journals such as The Antioch Review and The Louisville Review, and have been anthologized. Chasing Shadows, my linked collection of short stories, was published by Chronicle Books, and Bilingual Press (Arizona State University) recently released my debut novel, Tree of Sighs. I enjoy teaching creative writing and facilitating writing workshops–it's great to meet new writers!
